(Silver Spring, MD) — Move over man! It looks like these dogs have a new best friend—and they’re not who you’d expect. From a golden retriever who goes overboard to play with her aquatic friends, to a stray hound dog who is BFFs with a playful primate, Discovery Family Channel’s (DFC) brand-new series MY DOG’S CRAZY ANIMAL FRIENDS tells heartwarming stories of friendship and camaraderie between the most surprising animal pairs. With back-to-back episodes premiering worldwide on Thursday, April 9 at 9/8c and 9:30/8:30c, MY DOG’S CRAZY ANIMAL FRIENDS highlights the incredible love and loyalty found when these curious canines make friendships outside of the kennel.
The unwavering bonds between the animals featured on MY DOG’S CRAZY ANIMAL FRIENDS demonstrate that family and friendship know no boundaries,” said Tom Cosgrove, general manager of Discovery Family Channel. “The egalitarian nature of dogs yields some unlikely pairings…and some seriously funny footage. Dogs are not exactly known for having discerning taste—but when it comes to making friends, apparently even less so!”
Each week, back-to-back episodes of MY DOG’S CRAZY ANIMAL FRIENDS follow the friendships of loveable pups and their surprising sidekicks as they support, nurture, protect and play with one another. In addition, each 30-minute episode features first-hand commentary from the dogs’ owners, animal behaviorists, and canine experts as they evaluate these remarkable relationships.
Notable stories in this season of MY DOG’S CRAZY ANIMAL FRIENDS include: a high-energy hound who meets his match when he’s introduced to an orphaned tiger cub; a skittish watch dog who nurtures a weak foal back to health; a two-legged dachshund who discovers his purrrfect companion is a 3-legged cat; and a black lab who learns that size doesn’t matter after befriending an elephant named Bubbles.
MY DOG’S CRAZY ANIMAL FRIENDS is produced by Blue Ant Media, Inc. with Ron Lillie serving as executive producer. For Discovery Family Channel, Sarah Davies is vice president of production and development, Tom Cosgrove is general manager, and Henry Schleiff is Group President.
